This was a first for the Club when we were invited to host the Senior Inter Provincial Championships in August . It is the first time for these to be staged in the West .
The tennis was of a very high standard and excellent entertainment for those who were there. The result was very closely fought with all resting on the last match between the Ulster and Leinster ladies doubles which finished after 10 pm on Saturday evening Unfortunately Leinster won again
An interesting fact emerged when I looked at the Cup , Ulster last won the event in 1980,1981 and 1983. Since then it has stayed with Leinster except on one occasion when it was shared with Munster.
